What is your group’s artwork about?
Chaffee’s 4th grade gifted and talented class worked on the Equality panel. We chose to do the Equality panel as the culminating activity for our Equality unit. We loved working on the panel. It was a lot of fun. It is great to be able to use our artistic skills and express ourselves. We worked hard on this and it took a long time to complete. First we painted the world and the black background. That was quite messy.
Next we embroidered the important elements of equality on the border. We all worked on the people with each of us getting to decorate one person. Each one is unique and beautiful. We really showed our creativity in the way we embellished our person. There really was a lot of thinking involved in deciding on a design, the important elements of equality, and how to show individuality and togetherness at the same time. We are very proud of our panel and are excited to have it shown through exhibits and the on web.
