Title: “We Are All…”
Dream Theme: Equality
Materials and Techniques Used: Hand sewn and machine sewn thread on fabric.
Story behind artwork:
“When making this work, I wanted to find a new way to represent equality. Scott McCloud says that the abstracted figure is easier for people to identify with. I felt that by representing people by shapes and colors that I could give people a new way to view the world that puts equality into a new light. All of the shapes, colors, and pairings are different, yet they all have things in common. I want people to look at this piece and think about all those shapes and colors and to assign their own roles for each color and shape, and to then think about what they all are.”
