Artwork 1: Essay by Aaron“My picture is centered around music, I have a guitar going diagonal across the page. I colored it brown because that is the color of most acoustic guitars. I have a piano on the bottom right corner. I drew an MP3 player on the left side of the acoustic guitar. I also drew a music note on the top left side of the guitar.”

Artwork 2: Essay by Joseph“My design represents my theme, which was space, by showing the launch of a space shuttle.”

Artwork 3: Essay by Troy“I chose this drawing that involves heal. Because KFC is amazing and it promotes long living and the FDC has agreed to this. They have also donated millions of dollars in funding hospitals and to finding cures. They have also sponsored some special things for kids to do like shopping sprees. So yes in my mind what I have done is a good choice and is representation for health.”

Artwork 4: Essay by Amber“The themes of my project are art and music. I represented music by drawing a piano on the side. I also drew music notes in the background. I showed art by drawing a pallet that painters use. I also have different colors of paint on the pallet.”

Artwork 2: Essay by Sidney“The theme I chose to draw is music. I feel like music is important to both the present and the future. Music helps people all around the world. My design is the Beatles famous song “Let It Be” with the Beatles waling down Abbey Blvd. This song reminds people to let go of your past and stop holding grudges and let it be.”

Artwork 3: Essay by Ben“The exploration of space is important to learn more about our solar system. In the future we will learn more about space, if we explore space more. Also we will maybe live on a different plant. In the present it will be a long term goal, but it is important to try to find life on other planets. Also it will help if we need new resources.”

Artwork 4: Essay by Connor“Police brutality is a problem here in America. Law enforcement is constantly called in to break up peaceful protest. Unfortunately law enforcement uses excessive force, often injuring and even killing innocent citizens. Police often abuse their power. Police brutality needs to be stopped at all costs.”

Number of participants: 2 – 6

Materials and techniques used: Colored pencils, paint, markers, and pencil

Participants: Raegan, Carl, Katelyn, Maria

What is your artwork about? Dream of education, & music

Artwork 1: Essay by Carl“My design is two chains crossing each other representing the rapper 2 Chainz. This represents the theme music because of his killer rap skills and crazy life style. The pocket full of money on his shirt is meant to symbolize how much cash he has. He earned it from his hard work through his life. This drawing is important to the present and future because music is and always will be important to the world. Especially 2 Chainz’s amazing raps.”

Artwork 2: Essay by Raegan“My design represents the theme of this because it has to do with space. My theme is important to the present and the future because people are going to space in rockets and music is a part of everyday life.”

Artwork 3: Essay by Katelyn“My design represents the theme of imagination. The octopus represents a different world with creatures in it. It’s important to the future because it could be part of a new TV show. It just reminds me of something different, how everything changes. Nothing stays the same.”

Artwork 4: Essay by Maria“My design represents the theme by a student in science class, dreaming he was in space. Him being small in his desk is symbolizing him being a little kid in a big world. My theme is important to the present because there are a lot of kids that want to be scientist but do not qualify. For example, sleeping in class, instead of sleeping he should be answering questions like the student behind him.”

Number of participants: 2 – 6

Materials and techniques used: Paint, pastels, and markers

Participants: Autumn, Hayley, Johnny, Sarah

Artwork 2: Essay by Johnny“My design represents my theme by showing how far we have come in the world with science and technology. My theme is important because without science it would be hard in the world without knowing anything about it. As well as it may be a great thing in the future to understand more about it. WE can discover great things in the future with science. Hopefully we can things that we never dreamed about doing.”

Artwork 3: Essay by Hayley“My design represents the theme of equality and energy. The rainbow background symbolizes the equality of all people. The yin-yang symbolizes positive and negative energy all throughout life. This theme is important in both the present and the future. This world needs to accept everyone and have complete equality.”

Artwork 4: Essay by Sarah“My theme was science and it’s various elements. Unity is the main principle of design used in this project. It is used well because all the objects drawn have to do with nature and science. Rhythm is another principle property used in this piece because of the position of stars across the drawing and the various types of science on each branch. Movement is also used going around each branch by reading each type of science. My theme, science, is important to the present and the future so we can further advance in society.”

Theme Chosen: Peace, Night-time, Moon, Apple

Materials and techniques used: Colored pencils, and Paint

What is your artwork about? Education, Freedom, Peace, Music, Space, Recycling, & Art

Artwork 1: Essay by Trinity“My topic is space. I chose to draw the phases of the moon because astrology interests me a lot. I also thought the moons went along with the Dream Rocket Project. It’s important for the past and future because the moon is a main aspect of earth.”

Artwork 2: Essay by Samantha“I chose to draw an iPhone to symbolize technology. The different apps symbolize some important things in life. Freedom is symbolized with an American flag. Peace is symbolized with a peace sign. These things are important to me in life. All of the other apps symbolize important parts of life.”

Artwork 3: Essay by Amber“My themes were peace, space, and recycling. Unity and pattern is used in the background. Emphasis is used on the peace sign and recycle arrows. I used movement in the planets and rhythm in the stars. Peace is important to both the present and the future because war divides Earth. Space is also important to the present and future because it is important to question and learn about the unknown. Recycling is important because there are too many landfills. Also, making things like plastic destroys the atmosphere.”

Artwork 4: Essay by Karson“My design represents the World Trade Center and how they were once there, but are not anymore. I felt like this was the best theme for me to do. This is very historical to me. They were a big part of NYC.”
