Title: Dream Big – Actions Make Dreams Come True
Theme: Inventors and Inventions
Materials and Techniques: We used painter drop cloth canvas, fabric markers, acrylic paints, and fabric for backing. We used the sketches we made and each member of the group added items to the panel. The teacher sewed the fabric to the panel for the border and backing.
Why did students choose this theme and design? The group enjoyed working on this project. The class did a unit on Inventors and Inventions and learned that the future belongs to those who dare to dream. Everyone must learn to dream and use their imaginations. They used the quote by Albert Einstein- “Imagination is better than knowledge” as their inspiration. The students learned that we must be willing to try new things and take risk. They learned that many of the inventions we enjoy are mistakes that people made when they tried to invent something else. Each student added quotes to the panel to encourage others to use their imaginations.
