Title: Color of Mars
Materials and techniques used: Canvas and acrylic paint used. A lot of background work, also poster board and individual painted works of art which will be displayed at the Spring Art show for the school.
About: Since this project is being further sponsored by the Hutchinson Cosmosphere our projects are about Mars and the current exploration by the rover curiosity and the other four rovers. The amazing thing is the fact that the students don’t have time to study science because of all of the other demands on reading and math. Students had little awareness of the Mars exploration happening even now. So, they’ve learned a lot.
Did you enjoy working on this project? Everyone enjoyed working on this project. We learned about working together collaboratively as well as learning about space exploration. Also, we learned that the rover curiosity was named by a Kansas sixth grader.
We think it is all very cool.
