Title: Rights Today
Theme: ….immediate admission to all the rights and privileges (Women’s Rights National Historic Park Exhibit Theme) (Equality)
Materials: Muslin and permanent marker. Learning to transfer images using a light box.
About: We looked at the Declaration of Rights and Sentiments. Then we took important aspects from it and used a light box to transfer the key points onto our cloth. Pictures were also added to represent the rights achieved. While working we reflected and discussed what these right mean to women and society both today and shortly after the Declaration was created.
Did you enjoy working on this project? Yes. The girls were thrilled to be working on a special project with me and they really got into the discussions about the changes in Women’s Rights from then till now.
