Title: Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Theme: ….immediate admission to all the rights and privileges (Women’s Rights National Historic Park Exhibit Theme), Equality
Traditional Materials: Fabric, cotton batting and thread. This is a reverse applique technique.
About: This quilt is a portrait of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who lived in Seneca Falls. My mother and her family have lived all of their lives, and I lived there several years after high school. Just down the street from where they still live is The Elizabeth Cady Stanton School, my first memory of this school is spending summers at their day camp, making boondoggle bracelets and macaroni covered boxes. My daughter and I have visited the museum and the Stanton home and she helped work on this quilt.
