About: Our artwork uses historic and modern photos to tie the past to the present. Thomas Edison and his “Muckers” created innovative new technologies such as the electrical industry, the phonograph, the motion picture camera, the storage battery, and created the world’s first industrial research and development (R&D) labs.

The staff and volunteers who work at Edison’s “Invention Factory” in West Orange, New Jersey – now Thomas Edison National Historical Park – are the current-day “Muckers” who interpret these innovations, preserve the museum collections, and care for the historic buildings at this museum for this and future generations.
