About: These panels were created for the Lowell National Historical Park in Lowell, Massachusetts, and the general theme was Who Am I? with an emphasis on immigration and related family history. Most of the children represented these ideas in their work, although a few focused on their own personal identities, in terms of their interests and activities.

(Top Left): Beatrice Dascalu; I really like flowers and the spring so I included a flower. Flog of Moldava, because that is where I’m from and where I was born. Heart – I hope for love for the world. Peace sign – For freedom.

(Top Right): Dajana Pavlica; My family and I moved from Serbia last year. I painted the Serbian flag.

(Lower Left): Mantas Groza; My ancestors are from Lithuania. Basketball is popular there. Fish is an important food in Lithuania. Flag of Lithuania.

(Lower Right): Bianca Popovici; My family and I moved from Romania two years ago. Romania is a beautiful place. Blue, yellow and red are the colours of Romania. I hope for love and peace for the world.
