Title: Terraformed Mars

Theme: Living on Mars

Materials and techniques: Acrylic painting on canvas

Did you enjoy this project? I have the greatest admiration for the U.S. Space Program, and artwork of mine traveled digitally on the last space shuttle, Atlantis. I believe we will live on Mars, as this is NASA’s next challenge, so I was thrilled to participate in this project! Art is not bound to Earth, and neither are our biggest dreams!

About: To live on Mars, we will have to provide our own air, water, and food. The process by which we deliberately modify the atmosphere, temperature, surface topography, and ecology to become similar to the biosphere of Earth and to make Mars habitable by Earth-like life is terraforming. This painting represents a terraformed Mars, that has become enough like Earth so that we can live there.
