Title: Together

Theme: Expressions of Freedom and Equality

Materials and techniques: I used fabric that I dyed myself, and acrylic paint.

About: I picked this Dream Theme because I believe that there should be equality among different races. As my psychology teacher says, there’s only one race: human. I agree completely and it bothers me that racism is still a problem to this day.

Title: Together as Brothers

Theme: Expressions of Freedom and Equality

Materials and techniques: I used Photoshop for the Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. heads and made them bigger to print them off. I acrylic painted all the words and the hamsa hand. I dyed fabric and Modge Podged them together.

About: I chose this idea because to me, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. represent huge movements in our American history that brought a lot of people freedom and opportunities to express themselves without being held back. Without these two people and many others pushing for equality we would not have the country we do today. Also I chose to have the hamsa hand between the two because it stands for protection in many societies throughout history, it is believed to provide defense against the evil eye.
