Title: Support our Troops

Theme: American Heroes

Materials and techniques: I used red, white, and blue paint, and black silver and gold sharpie.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes.

About: I started with researching pictures of American flags. Then I got the idea of painting a star with an American flag inside a star. The outside was a white space like negative space. But everything was so empty so I put in the words Support Our Troops on the bottom. When a spelling error came up we thought of it as an opportunity to make it better. We made a new piece of fabric and sewed it on. I was able to get a new color scheme. I went with blue and wrote Support Our Troops and outlined it in silver and gold sharpie. Then we ironed it and it was finished.

The American flag is one of my biggest inspirations and so was the star on the flag.

Title: In Justice’s Eye

Theme: American Heroes

Materials and techniques: White sheet, sponge painting, and painting with a brush.

Did you enjoy this project? I liked it even though a lot of students did the same thing. Mine is special to me.

About: I was inspired to do this painting by a picture on the internet at Americanheros.com. The way I did this was an eye and a flag inside. I liked this painting because I love how
it says so many things to think about in such a small painting.

Title: Freedom

Theme: Education

Materials and techniques: We used fabric, red, blue, and white paint, and black Sharpie marker.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes, we enjoyed it.

About: Hi, my name is Sole’. I am going to be telling you about how me and my group mates Nayeli and Tarea came up with the idea for our art project. We got an idea from Google Images and we were going to do a flag with sparkly water but that didn’t work out, so we drew a flag with black stars and wrote freedom at the top but covered it up because it looked bad but now it looks great.
