Title: The Human Birds

Teacher: Ms. Wilder

Theme: Science / Technology

Materials and techniques: Acrylic paint on canvas then sprayed with gloss acrylic sealant.

Did you enjoy this project? Students from 5 different visual art classes collaborated together to come up with a title and main idea. They really got creative with their designs and enjoyed drawing and painting the project.

About: Our project includes different innovative ways to get a single person into the air and remain there.

Sammy- I combined animated drawing with the simple technology of a slingshot.
Dylan- I wanted my design to be able to glide and land safely as well.
Holden- I want to go through the ocean and then into space using hydropower.
Makenzie- I wanted to be able to fly freely.
Christopher- I wanted to design a realistic drone the has the capability of lifting a human being off the ground and through the air.
Chloe and Beyoncé- We designed an angel suit that opens its wings and shoots you into the sky.
Caleb- My design came from the idea of wanting to be a man and a bird- Birdman.

Title: Exploring Our World

Teacher: Ms. Wilder

Theme: Science / Technology

Materials and techniques: Acrylic paint on canvas sprayed with acrylic gloss sealant.

Did you enjoy this project? This project was created by students in the advanced visual art class which is a combination of 7th and 8th grade students. They collaborated together to come up with a cohesive idea. They enjoyed the project immensely and where able to combine their individual artistic styles into a blended piece.

About: We are a combination of 7th and 8th grade students in advanced visual art class. We collaborated as a group to come up with a cohesive idea and be able to use all of our individual artistic talents and styles together. We wanted to combine a few different ways to get into space (jetpack, flight suit and hover board) and show these technologies both taking off from the ground as well as being used in space. We also wanted to add humor and animation to our piece.
