About: The artists involved focused on creating a south western landscape, specifically the Grand Canyon National Park. The students examined the landscape and admired the colors, forms and shapes created from the earth’s natural elements. Utilizing their knowledge of space within art, they included a fore-ground, middle-ground and background within their composition. Students choose to use watercolors to express the fluidity of the south western landscape, so that it appears that it can be seen from a distance or up close.
