Title: Your Majestical Park
Teacher: Mrs. Ortiz
Materials used: Laptops, sketch paper, muslin, gesso, acrylic paint, pencils, smocks, assorted brushes, and masking tape.
Techniques used: Sketching and tracing images, enlarging image on the muslin by making a transparency of the design and then using the overhead projector to transfer the design by hand. We prepped the muslin by stapling it over a foam core board, painting it with gesso and then acrylics. Details completed with sharpie markers.
Did you enjoy this project? Yes, the students loved it.
About: We first researched Yellow Stone Park because it has beautiful scenery. Then we used our laptops to search images and information about what types of animals, plants and insects lived there. We then traced the images that we saw and felt we interesting to us. After that, collaboratively, we arranged the images into an interesting design format that we could paint.
