Title: Rocky Canyon in Zion National Park

Teacher: Mrs. Peterson-Shea

Theme: National Parks

Materials and techniques: Pastels and fabric.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes, we enjoyed working on this project. It was fun to learn about our favorite national parks. Also, it was fun to do something different than what we usually do in class.

About: Zion National Park was our favorite park because it stuck out the most to us. We instantly decided it was the one when we saw all of the pictures. There were many colors and we loved the caves. Also, there is many types of plant and animal species. It also was a good choice because there are limited problems with this national park. One major problem is rain, but that isn’t too bad. The name is very interesting because it’s a Hebrew word meaning “A place of peace and relaxation”. Who doesn’t want a place that’s peaceful and a place that you can go to for relaxing?

Theme: Favorite National Park

Materials and techniques: Paint and fabric.

About: Redwood National Park is an amazing part of the earth. It has very elaborate and gorgeous scenery. It is also home of the world’s tallest trees. The park supports rich mosaic of wildlife diversity and cultural traditions. We are amazed by how old the trees are, most close to 2,000 years old. 500 years is more common for a tree to live, but it is still a long time. We find much amazement from this amazing park.

Title: Death Valley National Park

Teacher: Mrs. Peterson-Shea

Theme: Favorite National Park

Materials and techniques: Paint, pastel and fabric.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes we enjoyed working on this project. It was a great opportunity to learn more about our favorite national parks. Also it was fun to do something different than what we usually do in class.

About: I like Death Valley because it has a creepy name but is a beautiful place. Many scenes in the original “Star Wars” trilogy were filmed in Death Valley which makes it even more awesome. Death Valley is also sprinkled with ghost towns that once contained thousands of people. These towns rose up during the gold rush, but once that ended, civilization disappeared from the area. I like creepy things like ghost towns so it makes it really interesting and would be a cool place to visit and explore. The park has the darkest skies in the United States! It would be the best place to stargaze and get away from city lights. Overall it’s an extremely beautiful place that welcomes visitors. There are 7 camp sites throughout the park and it only costs $20 a week! I would go there and never leave.
