Title: Rattle Snake

Teacher: Mrs. Erickson

Theme: The Extremes of Alien Life Forms

Materials and techniques: We used melted crayons to paint the picture. Then we crumpled up the crayon painting. We smeared on watered down paint as a fabric dye. We used an iron and newspaper to lift off all the crayon. It is called batik because it is dyed fabric and a wax resist.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes. This was a fun project.

About: Our project is about a rattle snake. We chose the snake because it lives in a really extreme desert. It gets so hot and so cold in the desert. But the snake survives because it knows when to come out and get sun and when to hide because it is too hot. An alien could learn how to be able to survive the really hot and cold temperature. Plus the snake has a hidden weapon, its fangs, to help survive.

About: The koala eats really weird food. We think this is a good adaptation for an alien because if an alien is willing to eat weird things, the alien just might survive.

About: We like the lion because it blends into the Savannah. It is also really strong. A smart ability of an alien would be to blend into the background, but still be strong.
