Title: Edison’s Talking Doll

Teacher: Mrs. Lipari

Theme: Things you didn’t know about Edison

Materials and techniques: Acrylic paint and marker.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes, it was it was fun working together and learning about Edison’s doll.

About: When we were researching Thomas Edison, we came across his talking doll. We were able to listen to what the dolls actually sounded like, and it was creepy! We found out that the voice recordings sounded this way because the wax that was used in making them melted in shipment and it caused the voice to sound scary. We understand why it wasn’t one of his successful inventions, we wouldn’t want a doll that sounded like that either!
