Title: True Colors of Edison

Teacher: Mr. Tripaldi

Theme: Imagination

Materials and techniques: Pencil, paint pens, acrylic paint, tempera paint, water color paint, water, and Sharpie marker.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes, it was a great experience, thank you for this opportunity.

About: Our view on this art project is the thought process that may have gone through Edison’s head on some other inventions he is not as famous for such as the moving picture camera, the phonograph, and the voice recorder (the three inventions we included in our project.) We also included two of his quotes around the border of our abstracted Edison’s face. And the background represents Edison’s imagination, his colorful side while the rest of his outer appearance is dull, through the project. We feel this painting shows how bright imagination can be!

Title: Sunset Lighting

Teacher: Mr. Tripaldi

Theme: Science / Technology

Materials and techniques: Paint, watercolor paint, paint markers and pencils.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes, we really enjoyed the opportunity and the experience working on this project for a great cause. It was a lot of fun working together on this project. We are happy with the way in which our painting looked once we finished.

About: Our artwork is about the inventions of Thomas Edison, mainly the camera. We placed the camera by a window with a sunset to give a colorful atmospheric effect. We added the gears at the bottom of the painting to symbolize the mind of Edison was always in motion and thinking of new scientific and technological ideas and objects that would benefit our society.

Title: Magnificent Music

Teacher: Mr. Tripaldi

Theme: Science / Technology

Materials and techniques: Acrylic paint, stencils, and paintbrushes.

Did you enjoy this project? Yes. This project was very fun. I enjoyed painting on the fabric.

About: Thomas Edison’s phonograph: Out of many inventions I thought the phonograph was the most interesting. I do not know why, but this creation really stuck out. The words around the edge of the fabric represent all of his hard work. “Imagine, Dream, Create and Inspire” in the middle of it shows how all of his hard work paid off. All creators / inventors have one thing in common, “Dare to dream it, work it, and achieve it.”
