About: To express the theme “Strength in Diversity”, we discussed the history of our town, who we are now, and what we would like to see our community become in the future. Our group chose a historical landmark from our town of Acushnet known as the Long Plain Museum. In the past, this was a school house, a meeting place where people came together and worked out problems, and is now a museum and the site of our town’s annual Apple-Peach Festival. To this scene, we added the flags from our own nationalities and other symbols of diversity. We want to express our hope that in the future, our town will continue to celebrate the diversity of our townspeople that has made our community grow into a great place to live.

About: To express the theme “Strength in Diversity”, we discussed the history of our town, who we are now, and what we would like to see our community become in the future. Our group chose a historical landmark from our town of Acushnet known as the Acushnet Sawmill Preserve’s Fish Ladder. The sawmill was a thriving business long ago, and now it is a preserved natural land area for our community to enjoy. To this scene, we added the flags from our own nationalities. We want to express our hope that in the future, our town will continue to be accepting of diversity, and preserve the earth for future generations.

About: To express the theme “Strength in Diversity”, we discussed the history of our town, who we are now, and what we would like to see our community become in the future. Our group chose a historical landmark from our town of Acushnet known as White’s Mill. The mill was established when our town was new, and though in ruins is a symbol of our past. To this scene, we added the flags from our own nationalities. The jet pulling the American flag reminds us that though we have backgrounds from all nations, we are all Americans. We want to express our hope that in the future, our town will continue to have freedom for all.

About: To express the theme “Strength in Diversity”, we discussed the history of our town, who we are now, and what we would like to see our community become in the future. Our group chose a historical landmark from our town of Acushnet known as the Acushnet/New Bedford Bridge. In the early days of our town, the bridge was an important link to our neighbors, and it is still there today. To this scene, we added the flags from our own nationalities and symbols of diversity. We want to express our hope that in the future, our town will continue to be accepting of all people and be friendly with our neighbors, even as we remember our past.
