In Memory of Adam Shelby White
September 26, 1974 – September 11, 2001
Title: “At the Summit”
Dream Theme: Celebrating Life
The essence of Adam was as a ball of light. He was willing, in a loving way, to take risks, never at anyone's detriment, but just for fun and adventure. "Life is an adventure!"(like climbing the mountain), was kind of a signature slogan of his.
This art work depicts the New York City skyline Before, During, and After September 11th, 2001.
I painted the NYC skylines and then made transfers from scanning the paintings. The photos of Adam were of a life celebrated by doing what he loved. The photo of NYC with the "angel cloud" was sent to Melissa after 911 by someone who had heard her story. She now writes a column for the Birmingham news called, Good News Melissa.
Losing her son in the September 11th attacks created a desire in her to share positive things people are doing with their lives and in the community.
Thank you, Melissa for sharing your son's story and photos!
This work would not have been accomplished without your part in it.
..Celebrating This Life- Thank you, Adam
