What is your artwork about? This amazing and colorful display is a cooperative effort of the McKinley and Beachmont schools. All students in grades 3, 4, and 5 at both schools were involved in this project. Students looked at the artist Keith Haring and investigated his style. Students then created their own Keith Haring inspired felt piece. Students were excited to use new materials and to experiment with movement. Students were forced to simplify their ideas down to simple shapes. By the end of the project students were taught how to use needle and thread, this allowed them to create movement/ motion lines on their pieces.
We invite you to take a moment to view all of the hard work and effort put forth by the community of children who spent weeks working diligently on each square that came together for this moving and beautiful display.
